2012Laboratory: Conception, designing and prototyping videogamesThe workshop will be run as a laboratory where the concept and mechanisms of the videogames can be explored from different points of view: aesthetic, narrative, discursive, technical and even playable. It aims to delve into discourse creation through videogames from a halfway point between the critical analysis of those game mechanisms – both from the perspective of the videogame as text and as a leisure environment-, and to foster the creation of videogames from an independent production approach. ALAN TURING CENTENARY - WORKSHOP: VISUAL COMPOSITION2012 marks the centenary of the birth of Alan Turing, mathematician, logician, backroom hero of the Second World War and father of modern computing. As part of the centenary celebrations, the UPV/EHU Computer Faculty and Arteleku Art and Techology Laboratory are organising a workshop dedicated to exploring and researching the aesthetical opportunities of computer programs as the basic material. Hello World! ProcessingHello World! Processing is a documentary on creative computing that reflects on the role that ideas such as those of the process, experimentation and algorithm play in this creative field featuring artists, designers and code enthusiasts. Based on a series of interviews with some of the leading figures of the Processing open programming platform community, the documentary links documents arising from some of the references, projects and concepts shared by this community. Tresnak::Tools{07 – Digital Manufacturing: “Repeat. Transform. Parametrize.”The workshop seeks to showcase the creation of parametric forms and systems to artists, designers and architects. The proposed exercise is therefore to create and print objects – created using the parametric design paradigm – that can be configured within a modular system. Tresnak::Tools {06 – generative art.The course seeks to provide the necessary tools and know-how to create audiovisual environments that evolve autonomously. The course will cover the audio-image relationship, the different types of behaviour on the time line, and the logic pattern design, to construct examples of generative art that can continue to be subsequently developed and integrated in their personal work. TRESNAK::TOOLS{05 – DIGITAL PRODUCTION – SPACES AND VOLUMESThe Tresnak::Tools workshops are introductory sessions on approaching the new technologies for their subsequent application in the creative and artistic arena. These workshops will provide brief introductions to different software and hardware tools. Document Actions |
